Malone Bowling Club
In 1967, one year after the formation of Malone Bowling Club, The Ladies Section was established.
The motivation was provided by golfers who considered that bowling would be a useful activity for those members
seeking a more leisurely sport when golfing became strenuous. The Council of Malone Golf Club gave their wholehearted
support. The walled garden in the grounds of Malone Golf Club at Ballydrain provided a natural setting for a bowling green.
In 1970 with a full membership they became affiliated to the I.W.B.A. and the N.I.W.P.G.L.
The Ladies continue to meet and play every Monday and Wednesday during the season, playing weekly home and away League matches every Thursday. However, the main pleasure of bowling is the regular exercise, fresh air and above all the friendship. All visitors are envious of the beautiful and tranquil surroundings enjoyed by members.
